SKILL AND CREATIVITY COMBINE TO CREATE GREAT “TRENCH ART”
Trench art is the modern name given to objects made from the leftovers of war either by soldiers, civilians or prisoners of war. The BHC’s newest exhibit “Trench Art” illustrates, via 20 WWII artifacts, the skill and creativity used by servicemen to craft works of art from the leftovers of war. Highlighted in the exhibit are several ashtrays, cigarette lighters and lamp fixtures pieced together from spent brass shell casings. A few examples are shown here.
